A Harvard study revealed that in 2025, the top two reasons people use AI are:
Therapy or companionship
Organizing their lives
That struck me as more than a little ironic.
Over four decades ago, I started a business to help people get organized—long before the term “professional organizer” was even recognized as a profession. What began as a desire to reduce physical and paper clutter eventually evolved into an entire industry.
But here’s the real twist:
In the process of helping thousands of people organize their lives, I discovered that the most effective—and lasting—solution isn’t a tool or a technique.
It’s companionship with God.
The Dream Behind the Business
When I married my husband 39 years ago, I could have closed up shop and volunteered my services indefinitely. But I didn’t. And here’s why: I’ve always wanted to be a philanthropist.
Not for recognition. Not to see my name etched in plaques or buildings.
But because I believe in a higher purpose—supporting people and organizations that are doing God’s work: building orphanages, hospitals, and schools around the world. I’ve seen first hand the extraordinary impact of those efforts. What they lack most is not passion or vision—it’s resources.
So I made a decision:
To keep building a business that could help fund Kingdom work.
When Purpose Feels Like Failure
I’ve spent thousands of hours and dollars trying to make that dream a reality—hoping to generate enough profit from the gifts God gave me to give generously and consistently to causes I care deeply about.
And yet, by many worldly standards, I haven’t “succeeded.”
At least, not in the way I once imagined.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
It’s not failure if you're walking in obedience.
It’s not over until God says it’s over.
Faithfulness is a form of success the world doesn’t always recognize.
Full Circle
Now, as AI reshapes how we live and work, I can’t help but reflect on the full-circle nature of this moment:
Technology may be helping people organize their lives and find companionship, but those of us who’ve walked this road know the deeper truth:
The most transformative breakthroughs happen not with machines, but through meaningful connection—especially with our Creator.
And perhaps my story—like yours—is still unfolding.
