Unclutter Your Unmentionables

Unclutter Your Unmentionables | Karen Lynch

Over the weekend, I found a lovely bra tucked into the back of my lingerie drawer. I usually hang my bras on a metal pant hanger to see what I have, but low and behold, there was a rogue bra that I was happy to rediscover.

When was the last time you decluttered your bras and underwear? It’s easy to overlook this task because they’re hidden away, out of sight, out of mind. Even when you attempt to declutter your lingerie drawer, it is hard to let go of items you’ve invested in (bras are pricey these days!).

Today, take 10 minutes to declutter a space we often overlook: your lingerie drawer.

My mom always reminded me to wear clean underwear – just in case I was in an accident. (Was my mom the only one who said that?)  So, toss anything that is stretched out, uncomfortable, or has holes.  Keep only the underwear you wear and love and organize by type – daily, special occasion, sports – for easy access.

The best part of this decluttering is that when you wear well-fitting and comfortable underwear, your confidence (and comfort) are raised. It also provides an opportunity to simplify your morning (no more digging around for what you need), keeping your unmentionables fresh and hygienic.

What to do with old bras? If they are in good shape, donate them to a local charity, give them away on the Buy Nothing group (bras go fast in my BN group), or, if you have a Ridwell box, place them in your “Threads” bag. Sadly, there aren’t as many options for underpants: garbage or Ridwell.

I hope you have a productive week!
