Over the weekend, I caved to the hype and finally started watching that buzzy, award-winning show set at a luxury resort (the one with all the drama beneath the surface), which airs on HBO.
When I opened my HBO app, I was advised that it had been changed to “Max,” meaning I had to load the new app and then delete the old one.
After adding and deleting apps, I looked at other apps on my phone that I no longer used or needed: Paper Art, Talking Pets, and a Crossword puzzle app that always has too many ads. Before settling down to binge-watch my show, I deleted 11 apps!
We download apps with the best intentions—loyalty programs, event apps, fitness trackers, tools we thought we’d use—and then forget about them. Before long, your home screen becomes a collection of digital clutter. With each swipe and scroll, your brain works harder than needed.
Today, take 10 minutes to scan your home screen. Delete anything you haven’t used in the past few months. Not sure you’re ready to let go? Move those apps into a folder labeled “Test Run” and set a reminder to review them in 30 days. You’ll be surprised how freeing it feels to declutter a space you carry everywhere.
